This article from the South Wales Evening Post sums he main points up well:
In my opinion it's a good thing, taken longer than it should to get here but the end result is a good one.
It gives the four regions a footing from which to build and grow stronger, whilst also trying to do something about the flow of talent out of Wales and finally bringing an end to the dual contract saga, which must be a relief to Sam Warburton who really didn't deserve to be caught in the middle of it all.
One thing that caught my eye is how it hands a lot of power to the Welsh Coach. Now the current incumbent, Warren Gatland, is a man that I have a lot of faith in and who is doing a great job. But there will come a day when Gatland stands down. Should his replacement be a bad choice then the repercussions could be widely felt- much wider than previously.
But so far the WRU has made more good choices than bad for that position so maybe I'm worrying about nothing.
The most important thing is that this is all settled ahead of the Guinness Pro 12 kicks off, the Six Nations and the upcoming World Cup.
Interesting times for Welsh rugby :-)
